Collaboration with journalist groups on drafting of media council proposal

Happy World Press Freedom Day!

FCCM has worked with local journalist groups to draft up a proposal on the media council for Malaysia. We are hopeful the draft contain elements that would help elevate journalism in this country.

We also believe that any effort towards the creation of a media council will be futile if itís not in tandem with the repeal and/or amendment of certain repressive laws such as the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
