The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Malaysia (FCCM) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a dialogue on the current state of Malaysia's media landscape this June 12, 2023 in Kuala Lumpur.
The event titled "State of the Media: Freedom isn't Free" seeks to ask questions not just about press freedom with regards to regulatory concerns, but also the sustainability and viability of journalism given the financial and social pressures in a hyper-digitalised world.
The 2pm dialogue will see a panel involvement by policymakers and industry experts comprising Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching, The Edge chief executive officer Ho Kay Tat and Sunway University associate professor Pauline Leong.
The dialogue aims to provide an avenue for interested parties within Malaysia's media landscape to listen to the panellists, with a question-and-answer session as part of the programme.
Admission will be free for FCCM members, who are allowed to bring in one guest each. Non-members will be required to pay RM30 per entry.
