FCCM and EU to host May 10 dialogue over Deforestation Regulation

The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Malaysia (FCCM) is pleased to announce that it will be working with the European Union's delegation to Malaysia to host a dialogue on the EU's adoption of the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) this May 10, 2023 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Regulation has raised concerns among key palm oil producing countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia, who are reliant on their commodity exports. In response, EU Ambassador to Malaysia His Excellency Michalis Rokas will be holding a dialogue session to engage with key stakeholders and the media on the implications of the regulation and the way forward. The dialogue aims to provide an avenue for the EU to engage with key stakeholders and address burning questions.

The session will be moderated with Rokas as the key speaker. The discussion will focus on the general process and discussions that led to the creation and eventual adoption of the regulation, followed by a question-and-answer session opened to the floor.

The event will be held on May 10 at the Naza Tower in Kuala Lumpur and is BY INVITE ONLY. Please contact the FCCM Secretariat at info@fccm.my for any further information.
