The Straits Times (ST) is seeking an experienced all-around journalist to join its Kuala Lumpur bureau.
Candidates should have at least five years’ experience as a reporter, have a strong grasp of Malaysian current affairs, be adept at using technology, and be able to quickly deliver well-written copy under tight deadlines.
Excellent English writing and communication skills are essential, and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia as well. Knowledge of other Malaysian languages such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Tamil, Iban and Kadazandusun are also welcome.
Having good political, government and business contacts will be necessary for the job, as is the ability to produce content on different topics ranging from general news, politics, economy, human interest and lifestyle.
