FCCM Joins Asia-Pacific Press Association

We are happy to announce that FCCM has participated in the founding of the Asia-Pacific Association of Press Clubs (APPC). The meeting was on November 10 at the Foreign Correspondents' Club in Hong Kong. The APPC aims to be a platform for journalists' associations throughout the region to connect and share experiences, as well as protect press freedom.

The idea for the club was initiated by the National Press Club of Australia, FCC HK and the Singapore Press Club. Representatives from the NPC, FCC HK, Japan National Press Club, HK Journalists Association, Seoul FCC, FCC Shanghai, FCC Taiwan and FCCM attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the representatives went through the APPC draft constitution, which the club hopes to approve within the next three months, and discussed ways the club can help its regional members. They also elected office bearers as follows:

President: FCC HK
First Vice President: FCCM
Second Vice President: FCC Shanghai
Secretary: NPC Australia
