The Foreign Correspondents Club of Malaysia hosted a briefing with Election Commission deputy chairman Wan Ahmad Wan Omar, where Wan Ahmad answered questions ahead of the 13th general election. Among the issues discussed were the participation of international election monitors, the security situation in Sabah state and the Royal Commission of Inquiry there. Wan Ahmad has been with the EC since 1998 and took on his current post in 2004.
